Fall protection equipment: quotation and document checklist
What should a fall protection quotation include?
Send the task and site brief prepared by your responsible team, the requested function, quantities and delivery destination. Ask for an itemised equipment list, model-specific instructions, compatibility evidence, harness size options and clearly defined services. Have the responsible reviewer resolve technical questions before selecting the offer.
Start with the site’s protection plan
HSE’s UK guidance prioritises avoiding work at height and preventing falls before measures that reduce their consequences. It distinguishes restraint, which limits access to a fall position, from fall-arrest measures. Use this as planning context, not a statement of GCC law or a design for your site.

Ask your responsible site team to identify the required protection approach, applicable local requirements and rescue arrangements. A request for “one harness and lifeline” leaves the intended system unclear. This page helps organise an enquiry; it does not specify an installation or operating method.
Compare the scope of each equipment offer
Use these questions to obtain a written response. Keep missing information marked as unresolved instead of treating it as included or approved.

For the actual offer, record each component’s model or part number beside its instruction reference and any relevant conformity document. Ask the supplier to explain mismatches and proposed substitutions. Keep inspection/service records separately linked to the same equipment identifiers.

Does an EN795 statement approve the whole system?
A standards reference alone is not approval of every proposed component, installation or use. Request the actual model-specific evidence and have the responsible reviewer confirm its scope for the proposed arrangement.
Are a harness, lifeline or fall-arrest device included with PST-361?
Request an itemised quotation. The tripod-and-winch catalogue description does not confirm every component your site may require. Identify included items, optional items and compatibility evidence separately.
